Brian Brainard Wedgeworth, is accused of finessing more than $1 million from almost two dozen women in eight states, pled guilty in Tallahassee’s federal court on 25 counts for his fake love schemes.
The charges include 14 counts of wire fraud, 7 counts of mail fraud, aggravated identity theft and 2 counts of bank fraud.
Wedgeworth, 46, can get over 100 years in prison if sentenced to the maximum penalty per each charge, said U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle.
His sentencing date is scheduled for Aug. 8.
Wedgeworth scammed at least 21 women across eight states and gathered up over $1 million through years of schemes, according to Hinkle.
Dude’s victims, all said he made them believe he was a single surgeon looking to “settle down.”
His okie doke scams ran from October 2016 to March 2021, on at least 10 dating platforms, and involved nine banks through false checks and wire transfers, according to court records.
Bruh earned the trust of his victims by meeting them in person, then offering to pay off their debts. He even went so far as to send fake digital presentations in an attempt to authenticate his doctor/surgeon persona. Then, after earning the trust of the women, he would request thousands of dollars and luxury items like Rolexes.
Wedgeworth used at least 13 aliases, most a variation of his own name, including: Brian Adams, Brian Anderson, Brian Edmonds, Brian Ammerson, Brian Mimms. He also claimed to be affiliated with at least eight different hospitals.
Wedgeworth, a veteran who has an ex-wife in Tallahassee, has fraud charges going back twenty calendars.
This isn’t even the first time dude has pled guilty to these types of charges. He has plenty of fraud and forgery cases in Georgia. Hell, when he was arrested in Tennessee last year, he was already wanted by law enforcement in Ohio and Alabama too.
However, despite pleading guilty to over a dozen charges in Alabama alone, Wedgeworth rarely served a full sentence.
He has earned the moniker the “Casanova Scammer” over accusations that he made a career of targeting women in search of love.
